Finding course notes

The Library keeps two copies of course notes published at Polytechnique Montréal. Copy 2 can be borrowed, while copy 1 must remain for onsite consultation.

To find course notes, search in the Library’s catalogue following the steps below:

On the homepage of the Library’s website, enter the course number for the notes in question in the search field under “Books,” OR enter the course name, followed by the word « cours » (in French), as illustrated below:

The two copies of the course notes in paper format are located in the GOUV section (Government Publications).

Look at the document’s classification number. If copy 2 is out, you can consult copy 1 on site at the Library.

Please note that some professors do not publish their course notes. In such cases, you may be able to access the course notes elsewhere, for example:

  • directly on the Course's website (in French only);
  • at the Library’s Reserve (if the professor left his or her personal lecture notes). To find out, simply conduct your search in the Course Reserve Catalogue.

Find a course code

You don't know your Course Code or Name? You can find it in the Répertoire des cours et horaires (Course and Schedule Directory, in French only).
