The peer-review process

There are several types of peer review:

Double blind: Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors and vice versa. This is the most common type of peer-review;
Single blind: Reviewers only know the authors' names and the authors do not know who the reviewers are;
Open review: The identity of the authors and the reviewers are known by all, and sometimes the reviewers' reports are available to the general public.
