EndNote is a reference management software package that lets you create personal reference libraries. References can be imported from bibliographic databases, library catalogues, PDF files or can be entered manually. Using EndNote, you can automatically generate a bibliography consisting of some or all of your references in a variety of output styles. The members of the Polytechnique community can download (form in French only) and install EndNote on both institutional and personal computers.
At Polytechnique Montréal, the LaTeX markup language is used in several departments. This guide shows how to use LaTeX with BibTeX - a free open source bibliographic management tool compatible with LaTeX. BibTeX notably allows creating high-quality scientific bibliographies formatted according to the IEEE citation style.
Consult the guide Bibliographic Management Software that includes comparisons between reference management software to help you choose the one that best fits your needs.
