The "Canadian Census" tab comprises census data since 1961. Search by year and by territory according to the census geography, then choose the desired options to generate data tables.

Access to a variety of statistical and geographical information from Census Canada and to certain data from Canadian industry sectors. Access to some of the data tables requires the freeware Beyond 20/20. Access to geographic information requires the freeware Geomatica. Both are installed at the Library and in some of Polytechnique’s laboratories. - Depository Services Program (DSP), Canada – Electronic Publications

Access to a large number of electronic publications of the Canadian government's various departments and organizations. The DSP is under the governance of Public Works and Government Services Canada.
Survey Microdata
Survey microdata are raw data obtained from the responses to each question in a survey. It is possible, under certain conditions, to access microdata files from Statistics Canada surveys, in which raw data is anonymized.
It is important to read the metadata and accompanying documentation of surveys, useful for data processing and interpretation of tables generated in statistical software. Both of the following tools offer the possibility to select the variables to download. Microdata are transmitted in .txt format and are accompanied by syntax files in SAS, SPSS or STATA format for purposes of statistical analysis.
- ODESI

ODESI is a web-based tool for exploring, extracting and analyzing survey data and microdata, primarily from Statistics Canada surveys. It offers the possibility to search for survey questions (variables) among hundreds of microdata files included in a growing number of collections. ODESI supports basic tabulation and online analysis, in addition to allowing the majority of microdata files to be downloaded into statistical software such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS for further analysis. - CHASS - Canadian Census and CANSIM

Access metadata and microdata files (PUMF) from the census and the National Household Survey (NHS) of Statistics Canada.
Data Liberation Initiative (DLI)
In order to facilitate access to survey microdata, the Polytechnique Library is a member of the DLI (Data Liberation Initiative). Our subscription to this service grants access to public microdata, aggregate data tables, and geographic files related to the census.

Off-Campus Access to Documents
