Journals in Engineering Physics

Here are the principal journals in which Polytechnique Montréal professors in the Engineering Physics Department have published the most, in the last five years (2019 to 2023).

  • Number of articles for the Engineering Physics Department only
  • 2023 impact factors (and quartile ranking) taken from Journal Citation Reports
  • Details of the archiving permissions granted by the publisher in the standard copyright transfer contract

Important note about comparing impact factors and quartile rankings: The impact factor of a journal is determined by the number of citations of its articles. For more details, consult the guide Promoting Your Research Activities - Journal Impact. Also, citation practices are often very different from one field to another and professors in the same department can publish in several fields. Therefore, caution should be used when comparing impact factors. It would be wrong to conclude that journals with the highest impact factor in this list are automatically the most prestigious or the most renowned.

The quartile rank corresponds to the journal's position among journals in the same category, sorted in descending order by impact factor. For example, a journal in the 1st quartile (Q1) has a better impact factor than at least 75% of journals in the same category. (The categories are those of Web of Science. They generally correspond to a specific theme. e.g.: "Engineering, Aerospace," "Plant Sciences," etc.).

Author addendum to publication agreement

Did you know that you can make changes to a contract you sign with a publisher? In order to do this, you can add an addendum to the publication agreement.

Here is an example: the SPARC Canadian Author Addendum, proposed by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL).
